    I may have some.

I'll look, and if I still have it, I'll let you know by tomorrow. No charge, by the way.

I am almost certain we have some at the office but I will not be there until Wed next week. Can you wait?

No memory in my box. You don't need matched sets with that ram, just a couple of sticks that run at the same speed. Dual channel stuff wasn't in effect at that time.

If for some reason you would need a video card or sound card I have some old ones free of course.

Thanks Doug. If you do, I'll be able to fix this young man up.

    Admin,

I'm on no time schedule. Just want to get him a good PC running. I have a larger hard drive on the way, and I was so impressed how much faster the PC I rigged up for Highball ran with the memory expansion, I want to do the same in this one for this kid.

His father is no where to be seen, and his mom struggles to hold things together. He comes down here and plays on our computer, and my laptop will see my wireless inside his house, so I'm thinking if I can get a good PC going, I can put it in his house and all of them can piggy back on my wireless for free. Maybe it will help them in school and be some fun on the internet too.

If you can help, I would be appreciative.

if they are not matched how are you going to get them to run at the same speed?

the cas latency {tlc}{trcd}{trp}{tras} will not be the same on two unmatched sticks, and is just as important on single channel as it is dual channel, you can get by with it for awhile sometimes, but your data is on borrowed time

Drop me an email - I am pretty sure I have some, however, I am leaving for Vegas and will not be able to check until Tuesday.

The motherboard defaults to the lowest speed. You could mix PC100 and PC133 ram if you wanted to and the ram would default to PC100 or 100mhz. 99% of computer users are not going to notice a difference.

Anyone have any old PC133 memory laying around? I need two (matched) 512MEG sticks of PC133 SDRAM (168 pin). I have some PC2700 DDR (184 pin) in 256MEG sticks I'd be willing to trade with, or I could just buy them out right. Let me know. Trying to fix up an old PC for a kid down the street. It's just like the one I did for Highball, and I put a gig of ram in his and it ran like a clock. Kind of want to do the same for this kid.

    Thanks,

    Danny
I don't know if you can use it. I have a strip of PC133 memory, but it's only 128MB. I'd be happy to send it to you if you would like (freebie). You will have to let me know today or I will have to send it after I get back from elk hunting (leaving tonight).. My e-mail is ppaxton1@msn.com

If you still need some after everyone has looked, let me know. I have an old almost dead computer that might have what you need.

Heff - I ripped the place apart and couldn't find it. I'm a pack rat, so I know it's here.

Let me know if you score it with someone else, and I'll quit looking.

I hate getting old and losing (fill in the blank).

Thanks to all. Some already know they don't have it, some are still looking and some are willing to look if all no one else has any, so I'm on hold for now.

Slipgate and AHansen, I'll wait until admin checks his stash on Wednesday. If he doesn't have some, I'll drop you guys an email.

Thanks again to all who are trying to help. It is much appreciated.

I could use some if there's any left over.
This old beast is as slow as molasses in January.
The hard drive on our other one, a laptop with all our vacation photos, died yesterday.
I'd rather buy one than two new computers.

What speed and configuration of memory do you need. I have some laying around, and if I get the two 512MEG SDRAM's, I'll have what I pulled out of this one and Highballs available too.

I have some 168 PIN and some 184 pin.

You can still buy it new if you need to. Newegg.com carries it.

edit: I didn't scroll down on your link -- prices look OK.

    Kind of pricey there.

Find the lowest prices at ramseeker:

    http://www.ramseeker.com/ram/SDRAM_PC133_(ECC)/

But buying new still might be kind of expensive for an old computer for a kid.

V35, wrap your HD up in a paper towel, stick it in a sealed sandwich bag with all the air squeezed out, and stick it in the freezer overnight. Get it back in before it warms up and most times it'll give you just enough time to transfer a file or two and salvage your pics.

After scrapping computers for 8 years, I'm pretty sure I'd have some of that laying around. I have a tub that weighs 70 pounds, full of memory. See Below.

I looked at what we have here at the office and it is 256MB, not 512MB. If you want the 256MB stuff let me know. I also have a couple of vid cards.

    Admin,

I already have two of the 256 chips, so I'll look some more for 512's. V35 (Bob) does need some 256 chips though. I'm sure he would greatly appreciate them. Email me, I have his address.
