Went shooting today....learned a lesson!!!
Well, after having it for almost a week, I finally got to take my new Lone Eagle single-shot pistol in 22-250 out for some shooting today. I went to my uncle's farm not too far from here. He had told me that he wouldn't be home since they were going to a movie, but I could do all the shooting I wanted. I set up a target at about 50 yards to start. I got on the back deck of my uncle's house, so I would have a good rest. Took aim, squeezed the trigger, BOOM!! Man that gun is loud!! Yes, I had ear protection. Suddenly, my uncle's home alarm system started going off!! Apparently, he has a glass-break sensor right next to the door on his back deck. I tried to call my uncle, but he didn't answer his cell phone. After about three minutes of wondering what I was going to do, I called our local police dispatch to tell them that they were going to be receiving a call from the alarm company. They had already gotten the call and had an officer en route. Fortunately, I was talking to a dispatcher that I know real well and she trusted me enough to cancel the officer. Finally the alarm reset itself after about five minutes...five LONG minutes!! I guess the lesson to learn here is that the Lone Eagle, even in 22-250, is loud enough to set off a good alarm.

After all the excitement, I didn't feel like shooting anymore. I only fired that one round!!! I hope to go back tomorrow and sight the scope in....if my uncle is home!! He's already called me and gave me a hard time for setting off the alarm. he thinks it's funny!!

I'd like to have a couple more calibers..444Marlin and 308. Mainly the 444. 0 -
That is a new way to set off an alarm. [8D] 0 -

done that at my own home once came in from work and a wild cat [apparently offspring from something someone threw out it looked like it was starving already so I was gonna feed it[;)]] came off my deck down into the woods I grabbed my pistol and pulled off one shot and there it went, wailing away got a call from dispatch they then cancelled the s.o. for me, very hard to explain away unless you know the person dispatching 0 -

Hey Slider, that .243 i have is a beast with the muzzle break on it in the noise department but really settles down the recoil, without the break it's alot quieter but gives a little more barrel jump 0 -
I made a similiar mistake, I got an Encore .22/250 and when I got home it was misting and I didnt want to get the gun wet. I opened the garage door and shot out at a target. WOW! It does have a blast, more than any other caliber I have. I didnt see the cat for 2 weeks. 0
