Grey Goose
I saw alot of folks enjoy Grey Goose from different threads. Why is it superior to anything else? I'm knocking it back right now and don't taste or feel anything different. Normal buzz/drunk just like the Polar Ice I usually down.

It tastes like a better Vodka- You have to compare and have tried different Vodka's to make this determination. It's almost scientific.[:D] 0 -
Believe it or not; I actually like runaway grey goose vodka. If you compare it side to side to some other vodkas like generic 'stater bros' vodka; the superior taste is immediate. However with a side by side to other high quality top shelf vodkas it may be more difficult; but grey goose has its place in the market, and distinctive taste.
[although I give credit to grey goose] ---- So far [at least for me] the best tasting vodka is the "jewel of russia". You dont really taste the alcohol; and its like drinking silk its that smooth.
However to answer you origional question is the distillation/ filtration process it goes through. Try sipping on it and then downing the shot. Possibly you dont notice it since you dont have it to compare, or that the alcohol has numbed your taste buds.0 -
It isn't the taste because good vodka should have zero taste (unless it is flavored), it is the "smoothness" factor.
I have a few favorites: Ketel One, Grey Goose, Three Olives and a very local brand called "Colorado"0 -
ive found belveder to be pretty good, as good as grey goose. 0 -
Didn't the mythbusters do a Vodka test to see if people could tell the difference on a premium brand? I forget the results. 0 -
I prefer Belvedere to Grey Goose, just because Grey Goose is French!!
Lately, I've been enjoying Ketel One. It seems to have a very slight flavor all it's own that I enjoy.
mmmmmmmm Any of the above on the rocks with a couple of hand stuffed anchovy olives and I'm a happy guy!
Keep in mind, I think of a martini as a womans breast. One is not enough, two is just right. Three, things are getting wierd and on four, ANYTHING goes!![:)]0 -
I love the Goose despite being french. It's the filtering process that makes the difference. GG is always smooth, and no hair spray taste you get in cheap Vodka. FOr mixing I don't think it makes a difference, but for a sipping VOdka, GG is the best IMO. 0 -

Actually Grey Goose is NOT French. It is a product of France, but it was founded and is owned by an American.0 -
Better half likes Gray Goose, and Magellan Gin, I don't much like vodka or gin. I did like that Colorado Spanielsells gave me, said he buys it at the prison. Pretty smooth squeezin's. 0 -

I do not purchase anything having to do with France. Nothing.
You know, I have found that there is very damn little of anything that is made outside the US that cannot be matched or bettered by a comparable US product.0 -
It tastes better because in your mind because you have to justify spending so much on vodka somehow. 0 -

The best choice yet. Grey Goose is nothing but a marketer's success story. It ranks the same in taste to Absolute or Skyy. I haven't tried Belvedere yet. Kettle one is ok, not bad, but for the price I can get Three Olives, so... Svedke is a pretty good choice for $15. Wait till Kristov comes along, he's got all the info on the top shelf stuff. I'm on board with that comment. It's my favorite. It's nice and smooth and takes me places that the others don't![;)] I finishing up a bottle of the new "Level" produced by Absoloute. It's okay....but it definatly ain't Belvedere.[^][8D]

There is a vodka that is totally unique and stands apart from the others.
It's stands apart because it is made from organic white corn, yes, I said corn. I highly recommend it to any lover of imbibment!

Ciroc is nice it's made with grapes instead of grains or spuds. Straight from the freezer for smoothness I like Finlandia (yeah I know it's cheap but it's nice compared to Absolute is abolutely nasty[xx(]).
I have half of bottle of this "Vampyre" vodka which is colored to resemble blood and strangely clings to sides of the glass.
What I'm looking forward to is Absinthe. Since it's all good in the hood with the once banned booze in the US (legal to sell and buy again[:D][:D]). I'll lock up all the knives and straight razor so I don't go all Van Gogh.0 -
Mix em' all with some Tomato juice....You will never know the difference[;)]......[:D] I actually like Skyy or another brand called Svedka.. 0
