Some interesting Obama information

This particular piece of Internet mythology has already been debunked. The school Obama attended was not a Wahabi madrasa, it was a predominantly Muslim school because, guess what, Indonesia is predominantly Muslim. However, the school also had girls (no head scarves required), Buddhists, and Christians... hardly a militant breeding ground.

Voting record [?] You clearly have not been around here long enough to understand that the first things you need to check on are race, religion and whether or not he (or she) is gay. Once these factors have been noted then GB members can move onto the candidates political leanings and actual voting record. Get with the program!

being charismatic and articulate are not prerequisites to being The President of the United States except to those celebrity loving types, I'd rather have someone with the desire to preserve our freedom and the balls to have the military put a bullet in some fascist maggot that thinks he should kill us all so he/she can get some virgins when he meets allah, you see the celeb-lovers loved Clinton[Bill that is you know the one who claimed to be the President while that pscho-b---- told him what to do] and he was a piece of slime!

Interesting to see some Obama defenders lining up already. Wonder if it's real support in the man, or yellow dog democrats pulling the party line.

Yes, in Hollywood its been the "year of the blacks" for a couple of years now. Not a racist statement just a fact. Next year maybe the year of the "little people" or the year of adoption of Africian Children. Hollywood is into supporting "themes"

Who ever they like and support I always know to look under the rug because there is always a pile of crap to back up their selection.

Good Point! That is the way to understand which candidate to support, check their record. I always examine the NRA pro and con data on politicians to see what their position is on gun control. I am not a one issue voter but I want to know how they vote on issues important to me.

I don't care if they are black, yellow, gay, or female. I only care about the issues.[:0][:0]

Here is the validity of the claims being batted around by various Right Wing forums/websites about Obama's past:

    1) Obama attended a Madrassah in Indonesia: LIE

    2) Obama was raised as a Muslim: LIE

    Now there's some solid logic.

"Bush was a bad president so I'll vote for/support another bad president to counter him."

I'm afraid that is what the partisan voters have come to.

That's flawed logic. Bush can't run again. So, I'll do what I always do; listen to both sides and make my own decision. Just because Obama is a Dem does not make him a bad decision for a presided. A person's ideals, morals and judgment ultimately decided their ability for the job. Besides, the race is just barely starting. He and Hilary may have burned themselves out buy the time the caucuses come around.

While I haven't decided who I will support, and just as anyone else, I'm ready to see Bush move on, I have decided a few I will not support, and lefty Obama is top of the list. Even if he were more centrist, he hasn't been around long enough to establish a record, and his book is already been debunked as a pack of lies. Just what we need in the Whitehouse. Not just someone the other side can call a lier, but someone who we can prove as one.

Bush can't run again, true enough, so why try to justify Obama for president by comparing him to Bush? Especially after you say bush is bad? That's pretty flawed logic to me.[;)]

I never said Obama was a good choice. I admit I don't know enough about the man to make a call one way, or the other. I feel that spreading unfounded rumors about a man isn't a wise or smart thing to do.

However, I'm interested to see what this Presidential race brings. It should be interesting.

That is the understatement of the decade. I'm just fearful of what we'll have to choose from. I see no one on the horizon from either side who looks good to me, but I have already dismissed 3 democrats and 3 republicans as a definite "No Go".

Isnt that the story of every election since.... I dunno, the end of WWII?

I mean, after Truman, what was the last good president we had?

    Nixon.... yea lets sip him.
Ford, the guy wasnt that bad, wasnt that good either, his claims to fame are that he didnt make any huge screw ups and was better than Nixon.

Reagan who signed the machine gun ban?

Bush Sr. who went back on his promise about no new taxes, and didn't have the balls to finish off Iraq when we had overwhelming international support (our coalition then was huge compared to the "coalition of the willing today"

Clinton, who was too busy in the oval offive with an intern, or signing gun bans to do anything about our border or middle east threats, and helped ensure China's successful economic warfare against the US

Bush, who ignored the border, castrated the military standing of this country. Now that we are in Iraq, North Korea and Iran have a "free pass" to develop nukes because they know we can't do anything but "talk" at this point.

JFK, well he did pretty good during the missle crisis, and he kept his vow to be on the moon before the decade was over.
But somebody hated him enough to kill him....
And just like now with Obama, when he was up for election, before anything of the issues had been said, his religion was under attack. He was catholic, omg the country will be under the rule of a man in a pointy white hat in italy.

When you bring up race or religion as a reason not to vote for someone, its a pretty stupid argument. It means you don't know enough about them to come up with reasons not to vote for them, but hate them because of their political affiliation.

I myself have no idea what Obamas viewpoint is, all I know is he gave some speech at the DNC and everyone thought he was a good speaker.... big deal, Ill wait for the debates, and probably pick the one that side steps the questions the least.

As is typical here on GB, we are not even told about the man's record or the issues he supports or opposes, instead we are only informed about his (supposed) religious upbringing. In the one-size must fit all America which is the dream of the Gun Broker Gripe Group, religion will be an automatic qualifier or disqualifier for political office. One his religion is establised then a few of the issues can be brougt to light...But not before!

    kristov,

I think it's more of an issue of, the democrats are going to vote for whoever the democrats run, regardless of who they are or what they believe, and the republicans will do the same for whoever their party puts up as the nominee. In my opinion, all of these fools should be barred from voting. While background and past record does and should be a factor in who you choose to vote for, where they stand on the key issues that face this nation today should be explored and considered. Something that maybe 1/2 of the voters will do.
