Bombardier/Can-Am
I know alot of the gang here uses ATV's either for work/play or both. I have decided to get a Can-Am Outlander 800 or 650 EFI XT.
I was wondering if any of you have any exposure with these particular models. I have read every review and brochure that I can find and one thing seems odd. All of the specs are the same, which makes sense as these quads use the same frame. What seems odd to me is that the 650 weighs 10 lbs more than the 800! Can you say beat a Raptor off the holeshot?
Anyone running any of these? I'd be happy to hear your opinion. Thanks-Ferg

I used to have a Honda 300 ex that was heavier than a Honda 400 ex I had. I doubt if they use the same frame for one the 800 won't be able to use the same mounts and I'm sure the suspenions is going to be different.
I doubt it it can take a Raptor too. It's a 700cc on about a 300 pound frame. If you do manage to out run a Raptor, it will never hang with a Quad racer, Predetor, Yamamha or Honda 450r's or the legendary Banshee's. I've raced a few Raptors and the only thing it can take me on is reverse.
The quads you mention are good quads and I think you'll be very happy with them. For my money I think I get they Honda or a Sukuzi instead. But I have a couple Seadoo's I love to dealth(same company) and I wouldn't think nothing about another one of those.

When it comes to ATVs, nuthin' beats an '86 Honda 250-R to the holeshot!!
I had the pleasure of using that Polarus 600, for a summer and it was plush!! No shifting, really fast (but not quick). The only complaint I had was that it was very heavy and had a huge turning radius.0 -
We have 2 of the 400 can-ams. Went with the 400 because there has been a lot of problems - engine and electrical - with both the 800 and 650 models. 0 -

I've beat my share of 250R's too. The R owns the woods but the Banshee owns the drag strip and the holeshot. The only bike that worries me are Yamaha 450R's. If I race anything else I know I can take them, but I never know about a 450R. I still have yet to lose to one, but they're getting faster and faster. I think it's just a matter of time, before the 450's are beating Banshee's. But as of right now the only other atv's I've ever lost to have been other Banshees.0 -

I was talking about a holeshot with a moose quarter on the front and rear racks with the other two quarters and gear in the SKEDCO being pulled behind![:p]
If you're all going to cheat, I'm taking my marbles and going home....0
