    yeah its nice, but your right on the old programs. unfortunally i don't see why they can't make them backward compatible but that would be up to the manufacturer which could take some time. games are also a hassle, i haven't tried I'm more of a 360 person my self

    I was able to install a program thats was written for windows 98 and it runs fine, tried to install one written for xp and it refuses to run under vista.

    Congrats. We just bought our second Gateway laptop a few months ago. I have been very happy with their productsand customer support over the years.

    I am thinking of selling this one and getting a new one but Vista scares me like a little sissy girl.

    What version of Vista? And is XP supported on it, just in case you decide to go backwards?

    Laptop is the only way to go imho plus wireless for internet.
