My GF read this and asked if that means that football players won't have those giant bulges anymore?
Wonder if they'll incorporate it into cars?

This material could be useful in several sports. Less weight and bulk would give much greater freedom of movement and allow added speed in everything from football to hockey. From the looks of it, even a goalie could wear gear that's not much bulkier then street clothes.

I read where they're already looking at applying this as a backing for concealable body armor. It would remain flexible for normal wear, but prevent blunt force trauma from bullet impact. It would probably also improve the effectiveness of Kevlar by allowing it to take mutiple hits in the same area without failing.

It's only a matter of time before you see housings for electronics covered with it, everything from laptops to iPods.
