finally went pheasant hunting today with kids....there was so many pheasants at my place.....like in the hundreds and thats no BS....wilder than hell did get three....i got three with four shells should have been three but by new double bbl shotgun on the first bird when i pulled trigger fired both bbls that whops you pretty good i'll tell you what! didn't do it again though.
p chickens are about the same way....couple weeks ago i drove out into the last corn field i was harvesting on and they started boiling out of the feild also....i would guess atleast 250 of them in one large group.

fan broke on my tractor this evening....fan blade alone is $1210.00 dollars shroud is over 400.00 plus more for a couple other things i'll need[:(] 0 -

its 24 lbs of aluminum....only about 50 dollars a lb.....its on a big four wheel drive tractor.....i figured a few hundred dollar but not over a thousand for the blade alone 0 -

its not what i am getting...its what John Deere will get from me if i buy a new one from them.......gonna be on the phone in the morn with tractor salvage yards....so it'll only pry be 600.00.....the bright side is that it didn't get the radiator 0 -
My Brother in law works for John Deere Service Dept., anything on them is expensive but darn if they arent good tractors. He makes $40.00 an hour on farm calls or $25.00 an hour if you hall it in. So Imagine what John Deere charges. 0 -

Think I might just go to auto supply, and buy a few electric fans...put one or two on all the time tractor is on, and one or two on thermostat, with override switch. Besides, then you have more available at the drawbar!!! 0 -
Ouch. I thought $450 for a little 18 inch tubing and flat iron bracket for a bean head snout was bad.
Combine trumps 2000 Chevy pickup everytime.
Dad put the snout through a pickup window two days ago. Sun was setting in the West. Guy drove in to fill him up with diesel. Tan pickup on soybean stubble. He also is blind in one eye and can't see too well in the other. He got to the end of the row and turned into the pickup. Crushed the door and smashed the cab pretty good. I think he had the pickup on two wheels, but not on its side. The guy inside thought it was going to flip. The truck is likely considered totaled. Hardly damaged the bean head.
We took it apart yestrday morning. I went to sleep after working midnights. Him and my uncle made a trip to the Deere Distribution Center in Milan Illinois (Quad Cities). They had it back together before I was awake. It is nice to live within driving distance to the Distribution Center. It's not the first time we've driven there to get the parts today.0 -

your lucky to live with driving distance of Milan......they got nine fans there, i should have it by 9:00 in the morning but shroud won't get here till 1:00....
no salvage yard had one in three states...pry just as well spend 600.00 for one that could fly apart any time..while i was that deep into it i took water pump off...had just a little play in it, well, bearing race was turning in housing so got stuck for another 600.00 for waterpump....gonna be about a three thousand dollar deal...oh well what can you do.....think Deere had a problem with this fan sounds like....kinda different looking fan...kinda like a turbine or compressor wheel of a turbo charger....was told this style of fan take fifteen less horse power to run than conventional fan....but if they fly apart like that....would rather give up fifteen hp....the tractor is an 8650....need to get a bigger tractor would like to get a 9400 but they are still in 90,000-100,000 dollar range0
