Tikka T3 Lite

A friend of mine found a Tikka T3 Lite in 243 today. He has been looking for a lightweight walking coyote rifle and liked the way this one felt.

He asked me about them, but I have never had one. Anyone have any experience with them? Good? Bad? Other?

    It's just the best rifle for under $1000, very smooth, very accurate, fine level of fit and finish. Tell him to buy it, he won't regrete it

    IMO, best out of the box rifle FOR THE MONEY out there. He won't be disappointed.

    Ugly as heck in my opinion, but looks don't kill deer or shoot good groups and this rifle does both with no problem.

    wasn't Tikka having some problems with them going KaBoom a few years ago? maybe i am thinking of something different

    If you spend some time on THR and TFL and do a search on the Tikka stainless kabooms, you'll find that it was isolated to 1 bad batch of steel for the barrels. The serial numbers are well documented. You can buy with confidence as long as you avoid that range. I'm too lazy to find them for you but it should be a quick search.

    I believe there was a batch of stainless models that had metalergy problems, but that's been 4-5+yrs ago, IIRC. Theirs or Beretta's site use to have the serial number range, or a call to them would get you the numbers. No problems with any since.
