We may have a pervert in the area
The local police are trying to find a man who takes pictures of little girls at the local soccer fields. According to the reports, he was taking pictures of them in provocative positions. Now I don't know if that means he's approaching them and asking them to pose in those positions or what, because that seems a little difficult to get out of a soccer game.
Anyway, he has been seen by several female coaches and was approached by one a few days ago. He offered a strange excuse for his actions, so she reported him to the police.
They say he hasn't broken any laws yet, but they want to identify him and talk with him just to be safe. Since he was approached a few days ago, there has been no sign of him even though he had been a daily attendant at the fields.
Better to be safe than sorry, and it's a good idea to keep your eyes opened for your kids.

There used to be a guy at the K Mart who took pictures only of little kids. He would pose them lying on carpet, half naked! When approached to take pictures of older people he refused saying he only took "baby pictures".
A group of concerned citizens ran him down with shopping carts.[:p]

I'm getting sick of all child molester media. Awareness is wonderfull, but it is starting to sound like THE SKY IS FALLING THE SKY IS FALLING! I would like to put them down as much as anyone else, but I watch the news and in a 1/2 hour local Fox news they bring it up 5-6 times. Personally I'm getting sick of hearing about their predator alert and other things over and over.
Instead of always talking about these perverts they should be using capital punishment on them since I've read several times that is one psychological problem that they can never cure. There is one in my family and I'm still very supportive of capital punishment. Knock him off he deserves it.

How do they know he was taking pictures of them in "provocative positions" if they didnt identify him and thus never saw his pictures ? Photography in public places of people of any age is LEGAL. The only illegality would be if in fact he is zoomin in on the genitalia or minors.0 -

Evidently, this is what the witnesses said. I have trouble figuring out how he would be doing that, but I trust the mothers who said he was. Needless to say, when he was approached and acted nervous and gave evasive answers, I do agree that this is enough to justify contact with the police. This is one of those areas where proactive, preemptive measures are called for.0 -
they are out there. I've seen 'pervs' do that, many times, all over, through the years. it's not just paranoia. I guess the 'paranoid' part comes when you assume they're going to do more than just take pictures. can you blame them? if I had kids and saw some dirty old fart taking suggestive pictures of them, I'd most likely break his face and his camera. 0 -

I recall being at a gymnastics meet, where my niece was a participant. I had a camera, and was taking pictures. All these girls, ages from 6 to 16, wearing very tight and sometimes skimpy outfits...The sort of thing that SOME people would get off on. If I were one of those people, and I intended to take the pictures home and use them for stimulation, I would have been a felon. Trouble is, how does one PROVE what is in the mind of the photographer? Maybe he just likes to take pictures of gymnasts or soccer players.0 -

WOW! I just put in my address and I have someone living NEXT DOOR that was convicted of sexual abuse, third degree. What does this mean? Is there any way to find out what exactly he did so I know how worried I should be?

That site will give you the charge and some pertinent information. If the conviction was in your state you may be able to get more info through your state's DOC lookup. It seems to me that these scumbags get more rights than legitimate citizens, however. 0 -

We had a freaky guy in our neighborhood a couple years ago. And then one day, one of our better neighbors (a BIG guy) walked across the street to the park and calmly informed the guy that if he ever showed up in the neighborhood again, he was going to leave as a pulpy mess.

Very informative but perhaps not as accurate as one might like. I noticed in the map of our community they show the same school in two locations, one 4 miles west of town (the correct location) and also 4 miles east of town where there is no school.

After seeing some of the cloths parents let their kids wear out in public these days it's no wonder there's more and more reports of perverts attacking kids. You got young girls wearing hip hugging jeans with the top of their thoungs showing and young boys walking around with their pants hanging down below their rearends so what do they expect? They're out trolling for pervs it would appear and their parents are letting them.

caitlin my 10year old told me the other day that she has heard some of her classmate talking about a man standing outside the playground at school taking pictures.
She hasnt seen him and i told her if she does go straight to the office and tell them what is going and to call the police if they wont then pick up the phone and call 911
i told her to try to get a look at what he is wearing. she said that they may not call the police i told her to tell them her uncle is the police for greenville and her aunt can get very mean so if they wont call then she better or i will be tearing off heads when i find out about this...
No pervert is going to sit outside a school and take pictures of these kids and get away with it......this kids go to a small town school0 -
Ah, my dear, I know how protective you can be, but READ the statute. He can take all the pictures he likes as long as he isn't trying to get anyone gratified or aroused. Are you going to follow him home and window peep to see what he does with the pictures?
Just as with the Lewisville case, this man may be a "person of interest," but with the available information, he isn't a suspect in a crime. At least, not yet.
I agree that he should be identified, and checked for active warrants, criminal history, whether he is a registered offender, etc. and that the contact be documented in writing and on video.0 -

Just got off the phone with the Lone oak city dept and she informed me that this guy is a board member for a school over in japan in he was here taking pictures of schools in the area..He was actually stopped here in greenville by the police dept and questioned.
Now I am pissed at the school for not sending letters home to the parents saying from the week of someone is going to be here taking pictures of the school and some of the children...that would have been the correct thing to do so now ya'll know that I am fixin to send a email to the super of the lone oak school giving them my 2 cent.
But at least i know there is not a creep out there just taking pictures atleast not this time..0 -

The law that Nunn cited isn't written to prevent people from taking pictures of kids on a playground. It was enacted to cover a loophole created by modern technology.
Texas already had laws on the books to prevent good old fashioned peeping-tom stuff, but nothing that really covered clandestine photography. Examples of this are the placement of hidden cameras in dressing rooms/locker rooms or putting a bag containing a video camera on the floor to get upskirt pics. These tiny digital cameras have become the modern day shoe mirror and until new legislation was passed people were able to get away with it.
It wasn't written to prevent people from taking pics of people in the crowd at public venues. Otherwise several of us here might be in deep trouble over our beach vacation footage. [:D]0 -

Yes, Randy, I agree with your assessment of the SPIRIT of the law, but if you read the LETTER of the law, it is much more far-reaching. On the other hand, how does one PROVE what is in the mind of the photographer?0
