Need advice on tactical laser for HK
I am looking for a tactical laser/light for my USP Tactical. Does anyone have a reccommendation?
I was hoping to find a green laser but can't seem to find one. I am not too concerned about the price - around $300 would be fine. I like this one a lot:

What is the purpose? To aim? Is this a target gun, self defense? My reason for asking is that a laser serves no real useful purpose in my opinion other then looking cool and adding weight. I was taught if you relied on laser sighting you may not shoot if you can't see the dot. Also in strong light lasers are about useless in IMHO again. 0 -
This will be for home defense/target - the green lasers at 20nm are supposed to be bright enough to see in the daytime. I also want an integrated light. 0 -
I played with one of those M6's once...too many switches/buttons to figure out under stress, IMHO. Yes, with a LOT of practice you can get used to it, but I believe in KISS.
Not that this helps you with your USP, but I played with a buddy's S&W1911 last week with Crimson Trace grips on. If I decided to hang a laser on a pistol, that's what I'd go with.0 -
I was looking at putting a Streamlight TLR-2 on my HK.
You need an adapter, but.........

That is the topic! Thanks for the input - I will check them out. Does anyone else have anything? Going once...0 -
I had a crimson trace on a Smith .357.
It encouraged sloppy habits, so I got rid of it.

They sound good on paper, but without proper and intensive training lasers can be a hindrance instead of an asset.
In my experience they can actually slow down people's reaction time. The tendency is to be too busy looking to see where the laser is pointed and trying to move it to the target instead of focusing on the threat and bringing the gun to bear through hand-eye-coordination. In short, it can be distracting without a lot of experience using one.
I'd suggest training with a timer on rapidly appearing targets until you've developed the ability to use one faster than your iron sights or point-shooting ability.0
