How Accurate?
With all of the threads over on Experts asking about the accuracy of this and the accuracy of that, I have a question for the all powerful think tank. I have this rock, its about 1.5 pounds and oddly shaped. I was wondering what sort of accuracy I can expect if I throw it? I'd like to get hits of at least 300 yards with my rock, what type of optic to you recommend? Should I be wary of surplus rocks or corrosive rocks? I hope someone can help me with these questions of mine.

This is a question I brought up weeks ago re: the poster @ GB asking " How Accurate " a certain firearm might be.
The correct response is ---- more accurate than you could probably ever be with it.
And I subsequently got my nose rubbed in it by one of the mods.
So I don't answer those questions any more !0 -

Accuracy is all about practice! If you are willing to put in the time you can surprise yourself at how accurate you will become.
Work with one gun three times per week for a few months and see what happens.[^]0 -

Altough his analogy uses a god-forbid, dare-I-say-it, gun, I would have to say he is spot-on. Become very familiar with your rock, sleep with it, watch T.V. with it, place it beside you on the desk when you are perusing the forums here. Learn to know how it likes being thrown, at what distances is it the most accurate, how well it holds up to repeated throwings, where can you get a back-up rock that performs similarly.
After 4-6 months of tri-weekly rock throwing-tossing-pitching-sailing-chunking-skipping, you will be surprised that you may actually be able to clip the wings off a fly at 30 paces, a feat that you thought unimaginable just 4-6 short months ago.
Be sure to come back here with a range report. Remember safety first, i.e. safety glasses, and gloves.0 -

Always remember to clean your rock after use. Accumulated dirt and grease on your rock will have an adverse effect on accuracy. Beach 0 -

What you want to work on is your magnum load. For this, you need a sling. You want a supple leather strap 46 inches long. Fold it double, hold the loose ends in the right hand, and nestle your rock in the pocket where it folds over.
You will get 3 inch groups at 300, with enough practice.
Remember, if you go up against a 9 foot tall Philistine, aim right between the eyes. Be sure to cut his head off with his own sword, before he wakes up.0 -
Yes, it's not so much the rock, but the rock-chucker that is important.
Having said that, I have some of the rarest rocks. Anyone can get the ordinary sandstone, limestone or granite. Howabout glass. Flint, amber, and emerald. Highly effective ballistics. Breaks into many sharp shards on impact. Accuracy is not the best, but it's not meant for targets. If all your aiming at is a target, I recommend those tiny lead balls.0 -
You can expect increased accuracy AND save a fortune if you reload yourself. Components are LITERALLY everywhere. I recommend you use the "rock-chucker" supreme kit for your reloading[}:)] 0 -

I heard one guy say there was so little wood to use for building that Joesph was probably more comparable to a modern construction worker that worked with stone than a carpenter. A loss in the translation perhaps. Interesting theory about a trivial point.0 -

Well, Jesus was a Roman (remember his dad participated in the Roman Census), & Most of the Roman seige weapons and war structures were built of wood and there were plenty of them, shields made of laminated wood, snd spears. Wooden implements were, as you said intregal to stone construction for levers and pullys (Huge levers and pullys)(like the size of volkswagons), plus scaffolding and cranes. Also carts and chariots were so plentiful and built to assembly-line like specs, as all the Roman roads have grooves worn in them that indicate all of them (carts and chariots) had the same axle width. Jesus was also known as a Galilayan, and lumber may have been more plentiful there. since the relatively low tempartures and the large amounts of rainfall every year made Galilee a center of flora and wildlife. First of all accuracy is all about the proper breathing. You can work on this technic while you sit on your couch and watch cartoons.
And second of all, forsake all other rocks and become very intimate with just "The One" rock.

Meteor hammer, known as flying hammer, is one of the soft weapons. Long ago, when hunting, man used vine rope to tie stone balls and throw them so as to bind the legs of wild animals.0 -

Per NATO standards, inert training rocks are identifiable by their snazzy blue paint job.
Check local directives before use of red or orange rocks. These are tracers.
