With these shootings going on, I believe a persons original view will just be strengthened. If you liked them before, you'll love 'em now. If you disliked them, you will hate them now. I don't understand how you could have no opinion in the matter.

As far as the upcoming 2nd amendment ruling, I pray that it will be read at face value and upheld(as I am sure most do)
I hope they won't feck it up.

I really think the tide is turning in our favor. We have to continue through positive education and being a good example to our friends, familes and co-workers.

Let's not let our guard down yet. The letters we write, the votes we make, the people we educate, every little thing we are doing is making a differance, but we must continue with everything we are doing, if not more.
We haven't won this war yet. We are still very much under attack. With elections coming up we face a huge battle.
It's nice to see the changing of peoples attitudes, but there are people out there that will never learn and it's those people we must still face.

I think the vast majority of people either like guns or don't give a hoot one way or the other- even if they PERSONALLY don't like guns they don't care if others own them.

It's just a small but very vocal group supported by the media that wants tougher regulations

Just my guess. Why? Because most people are apathetic.

Just feeling ambivalent today- both optimistic and pessimistic. [:D]

I was talking to 2 friends of mine who are Mexicans and have grown up in families voting Democrat, who in turn have recently been the advocates of gun control.

Long story short of it is After our conversation they were saying they will vote for gun right politicians regardless of political party in the upcoming elections.

I will admit I kind of felt warm and fuzzies after seeing 2 lifelong Democrats party voters admit they would vote for gun rights over party line, even if that meant voting Republican.

I would if I could but let me just be glad about these 2 voters who agreed that it is important to vote pro gun regardless of party the candidate is in.

It is a known fact that 90+% of the candidates protecting the rights of gunowners are other than Democrats.

In the state of Washington it is more like 99% of the Democrats in office are trying to ban gun owners rights in one way or another.

there's always going to be left-wing female "victim" voters who got something against guns. there will always be politicians who want to use "evil guns" to stir things up.

I don't think that American attitudes about firearms ownership have changed much but attitudes about voting sure have! I have met very few people who are truely active about banning firearms and totally against firearms ownership. Most folks will simply say "Sure, you should be able to own guns" and then either not vote at all or vote for some anti gun politico who'll take away their gun rights. There are moderate and even liberal gun owners but most pro gun organization have no use for anyone who is not a fire breathing conservative...Much like the members here on Gun Broker! If we are going to win we had better adopt the big tent plan and let in anyone who is pro gun; even if they are not white, are gay, don't love Jesus or want us out of Iraq!
