I cant believe it, why does the military put up with it.
I thought everyone had to pass a back ground check.
I know in the Air Force, the guys that worked around
jets, weapons, fuel, had background checks.
you guys in the army, marines, navy, coast guard did
you have to have a pass a back ground check?0 -

A lot of military training is based on and done by law enforcement personnel. Notice how the military in Iraq use SWAT team tactics when entering buildings. WE taught THEM how its done.
The military should check the all enlistees for tatoos and reject anyone with any gang affiliation.0 -

SWAT teams? Urban Warfare ? Hell, we were experts at urban warfare,
house and town clearing over 60 years ago in Europe. The U.S. Infantry
invented and taught it. Seems like we did a much better and lasting job
of it. Seldom had to repeat it in the same town or city.0 -
I suppose anyone wanting to give up the gang life, the millitary would be a great place to start over.
Unfortunatly there are those gang members that go for the wrong reasons I suppose, and how do you differentiate between the two?
I dont think as seen in that video that any sort of gang affiliation such as tattoos or the sighning, IE hand gesturing should be in any way tollerated.
Gang tattoos should be maybe blacked out. And any sort of sighn of gang affilitaion once enlisted should be grounds for discharge possibly.
To allow an individual an honest new start I think is a good thing, but how do you stop the rest with the bad intention of takeing there knowlage back to the street?

Two active duty Marines are behind bars charged with multiple charges of deadly conduct and criminal mischief following a shooting at a Northwest Side nightclub.
No one was injured in the shooting at Planeta Mexico, located in the 3800 block of Parkdale, but several vehicles were hit.
According to investigators, the 22-year-old twin brothers got upset because they were asked to leave because they kept getting in the way of a commercial being shot at the nightclub.
The brothers fired eight rounds from a 9mm handgun before leaving.
The club's bouncer followed the brothers even as they reportedly shot at him from their Ford Mustang.
Police caught up with one of the brothers at Kampmann Boulevard and the brother was caught at his home in the 200 block of Placid Drive. The gun used in the shooting has not been found.0 -

The more bodies they need to put in a uniform, the less stringent they seem to get -- have heard of at least a few who snuck in with felonies that didn't get uncovered for months.
Lazy recruiters, not policy, are more to blame, I think.0 -
As far as Tattoos I would make a bet that any gang related were recieved after they enlisted. Know the Marines are now not accepting anyone with a gang tattoo.
Even the normal tattoos are regulated. They have to take a picture of each and every one and they are reviewed by a Higher command. There is also a restriction on location and size of tattoo that is allowed.
Know I could not enlist now because of the number and size of tattoos I have. And I served 20 years.0 -

you have to have a pass a back ground check?The AF is the only branch that hasn't lowered it's enlistment standards over the past few years. These days everyone in the AF must hold at least a 'secret' level clearance.0
