    No fair on the AK vs AR test. The AK had a muzzle nut instead of the standard Slant style or Krinkov style muzzle brake. The AR had a flash hider which, if it's the later type with closed bottom acts against muzzle rise.

That was an originally equipped AK47 (no AKM style slant flash suppressor) and an M16A1 with a full birdcage flash suppressor.

    For this same reason the penetration tests were also misleading. Those were steel AK rounds vs. the no-longer used, jacketed/lighter weight, lead 5.56's.
