Gun Engravers
Anybody got any suggestions on a good one. My dad had several guns engraves (which I recently inheirited) and I would like to get some of mine customized.

People around here consider that a heathen thing to do. don't say it too loud. [;)] 0 -
One of our members right here, goes by MVP. I Have seen some of his handywork. Great at carving initials sideways into trigger plates. I believe he is also doing some woodburning. 0 -
Well to each thier own I guess, but I don't see how any one can find something like this a heathen

These were all done by hand and chisel and are truly family heirlooms. The first is antique scroll on a 410 Browning Citori. The others are scenes from South Tx where I grew up on a 28 Browning Citori. Unfortunatly there is some pitting on the 28 guage. I want to find someone that can get that out and add some of my own customization to my guns that I will pass down to my son.. Can you pick out My Dad's initials on the last pic.. LJW0 -

I know he will reccomend a dremel, so I think you should get a second opinion.0 -
Some folks don't like any engraving at all. I like good work and I like this S&W Model 10 that my wife had done up for me for my 50th birthday. The stocks are elk stag that I fitted, shaped and installed the medallions after buying the rough blanks.
The engraver was Michael Gouse and his website is www.mtart.com . The cost for this work was $500 and the turn-around was 6 months.
Here's another showing the stocks as they looked before I reworked them and the El Paso Saddlery rig (belt, holster and double speed loader pouch all floral carved).
