first time post , I would like to buy a Hi -Standard 22 hand gun in MI , I have a CCW permit , which I can buy a hand gun with out going through a FFL dealer , if someone in MI has any Hi- Standards for sale let me know . Thanks TEDMI 48838.

Hi Ted and welcome to the forums!
I hate to be a wet blanket, but there are some rules you need to know when you hang out here:
If you want to buy a gun, the first place to look is in the auction side of the house!
If you can't find the rifle/pistol, etc you are looking for at auction, try the "Wanted" section,
THEN as a last resort, you might try posting a "wanted" sign in the discussion forums.
Certain folks(not me) will be offended if you don't follow these rules[:I]

...Sure wish my CHL would allow me to bypass an FFL.
You might ought to check and make sure that it just allows you to bypass a waiting period of some sort, or a NICS.
Im not aware of a CHL/CCW from any state, allowing anyone to bypass Federal Law...[;)]0 -

Dealers are exempt from the safety inspection requirements on pistols kept solely for the purpose of resale.
Some agencies require all unused license to purchase forms be returned to them for record keeping purposes.
These forms are licenses to purchase a pistol and the purpose is not to circumvent the required NICS (National Instant Check System) check when buying a shotgun or rifle from an FFL dealer.0 -
1, in MI you don't need to go through a FFL to purchase a handgun, even without a CCW. All you need is a permit to purchase from your local "cop shop" and you can do a F-F.
2, check out some of the local gun shops, Guns Galore in Fenton comes to mind, as does Jays in Clare and I know that there is a large one over near Grand Rapids also.
3, look over on the auction side, IIRC you can limit your search to a specific state.0 -

2. As noted try perusing the auctions for the gun you want. Or post a want to buy in the Classifieds Forum on this site (down at the bottom of the forum list). I won't move this thread to the Classifieds because I don't want you to not find it later and not know what happened to it.
3. Unless the seller resides in your home state any gun purchase will have to go through an FFL. The process is explained on the GunBroker Home Page under buyer's tutorial.

Ted - your Michigan CPL will let you buy a pistol in a gunshop IN MICHIGAN WITHOUT having to get a "Permit to Purchase" from your local Police.
I doubt you can bypass using an FFL if you buy a pistol from out of state. If you buy a pistol from a private party in Michigan, THEY still need to retain a record that they sold the pistol to YOU. This means that you still need to go to the Police Station and get the propper PAPERWORK. Just not a PTP0 -

Even with your MI CCW, you still need to go through a ffl if you are purchasing from out of state, and you need to fill out a purchase permit (you can download it)and take the pistol in for inspection on ftf transfers also.

Thanks for all the replies, I have bought 3 hand guns in MI in 2 years with out going through a FFL dealer , 2 from privet parties, 1 at a gun show , the ones through privet parties , I went to the MI State police web site and printed a form that you fill out , 1 for the seller ,1 one for buyer,1 one for Kent county sheriff's department, the reason I posted here was that I want to avoid FFL dealer cost and shipping cost , my FFL dealer get 25.00 going through them + around 25.00 shipping , just trying to save some money .
Having a CCW Michigan Concealed Pistol License allows you to buy a hand gun with out a back round check , or a purchase permit, you do have to get it registered in your county where you live .Thanks for all the replies . TEDMI.0 -

That is only for Private party FTF sales, you can download the "pistol sales record" any transfer on a CCW through a FFL in MI requires a NICS check, a NICS is not required when a 10 day purchase permit is used.
I have a feeling this thread is going to go away soon, as it appears more that you wish to circumnavigate the GB auctions.

I am not familiar with MI state laws. Some states require a gun owner to have an official ID card or obtain a permit to purchase and apparently that's the case in MI. I guess having the CCP satisfies the license to buy requirement for in-state purchases. But we were noting that if you buy a gun from out of state it will need to go through an FFL. If you only shop within your state of residence then no problem.
I think we're all on the same page now. Try posting a WTB ad in the classifieds and specify you only want to purchase from a MI resident if you don't want to use an FFL.0
