my Marlins are the same way , thats one reason why i sold my 357 it was the worst being a smaller case ,

i try not to push the shell all the way in with my thumb in stead try useing the next shell to do so and use you thumb just for the last one, its kind of a pain cause some times the shells want to push back out but its better than getting a sore thumb all the time

Its a good thing he sold it, now he can take the money, buy a house and get a wife.

Start round # 1 with your hand, but don't push it all the way in.
With round # 2, finish pushing in round # 1, but again stop before it's completly inserted.
Repeat until the magazine is full, than use your spare round to finish inserting the last round (or use your finger and only get pinched once).

You just need to be smarter than the piece of steel is.

I have one in 30-30. I believe the cartridge length contributes to easier loading.

Swipe the cartridge in using the ball of your thumb. Don't stick the tip of your thumb into the gate.
