When are shipping cost stealing?
Most guys charge a fair amount to ship things particularly on GB auctions which have less cost so trying to up the shipping knowing the bidding will be less to gain a few cents in reduced commissions is not worth the WTH one gets for doing it.
I saw a couple Mausers on GB and noticed the guy wanted $40.00 shipping in the East and $30.00 in the west.
I thought, since I was interested in both I would ask the guy WTH is with the shipping and did that mean $80.00 shipping for both guns?
I have bought a few things and sold a few and have an idea what shipping would be and can be sure two Mausers would not be even $30.00 insured.
I don't mind the person BSed me about book keeping cost and it's a free country and he can do what he wants, that is his right.
But when invokes God into the equation I must state plainly this. Blasphemy is not what most think. It is not swearing using the name of the Lord in anger. The definition of Blasphemy is "To attach the name of the Lord to a lie"
That is what the person from Kane county Utah did. I won't mention is name or city.
IMO, he is trying to up the shipping to scam GB auctions out of a few bucks. If he was doing it to Rip-bay, still wrong, that might not bother me as they are certainly sticking to everyone. But, GB has a decent attitude and pulling this crap on them seems somehow wrong or maybe more wrong.
I can and will exercise my option of not bidding on them but was curious how other felt about such an obvious line of BS. Book keeping cost. Yeah, what next adoration fee?
BTW, he never bothered to tell me what the fee for two rifles would be so I assume it is $80.00. That would get 25 rifles shipped from Classic but then when they use the name of the Lord they act like they believe in it by their actions!

Some sellers want to be compensated for their time and add a few bucks to shipping. Sometimes rifles are shipped in new plastic cases and you have pay for that. Some sellers may be padding their profit a bit. Take shipping into account when bidding (or not bidding) and act accordingly.
This topic comes up several times a month. The answer is always the same (see above). Complaints about auctions are prohibited as forum topics.
