They're great rifles. I'd jump all over that $400 deal if it's in decent shape. It'll out live you, your kids, your grandkids, your...well you get the point.

One of my favorites also. Some of them had spectacular wood, like this one in a .270.

Snatch it up now. 4 bills is a steal.

I have two of them, one in 30-06, one in 300 Win Mag. Sweet rifles of exceptional quality, fit and finish.

I have one in 7mm Mag...great, great rifle. It has 8 whitetails to its credit so far!

    Frank,
I have one in 300 winmag. I am very happy with it. New would be around $700 ( or more for the medium bore mags like the .338), so I would go for it at $400, if the condition is good.
The only thing I don't like about mine is that I don't have another just like it.[:)]

I'm thinking about selling my Mossberg 500 so I can get some more money for this. I figured it wouldn't be too big of a deal because of the availability and price of Mossberg 500s.

I think the #1 A1 (short sporter barrel with small fore-end) is the most beautiful rifle ever made. I got one 10 years in .243 Winchester in trade for a much detested Colt Anaconda. about 3 years ago I picked up the 7x57 gun pictured. I am currently awaiting delivery of the same model in .458 Winchester that I took in trade from a buddy. The heavier barrel models are OK, but I really love this style.

I keep thinking how cool it would be to have such a classically styled rifle in a really classic caliber, like .300 H&H Magnum. I sort of keep an eye out for one .30-'06 to rechamber some day.

These guns will sometimes "string" the groups, spreading them vertically due to the way the fore-end is hung on the barrel. There is a fix for this if your gun does it.
