I really dislike corrosive ammo
Went shooting on Monday night and cleaned the rifle with hot boiling water and soap when I got home.
Just checked the bore again today and the rust was unbelievable.
Why did anyone make thats junk and why did I buy it,
I Hate Corrosive Ammo!!![xx(]!![xx(]!

Well, did you finish it up with residue removers, oil and all that?
Corrosive Ammo is just fine, as long as you clean up well after. Sometime it is PIA to go through extra cycle of cleaning, but then, again, 12-15 cents a round vs. 20-50 cents a round... I stopped shooting corrosive, just keep it canned for just in case and buy more, but never take it to the range, just value my time more than a couple of bucks.0 -

yep!, i wouldn't, not gonna take a chance no matter how good you clean it, to many nooks and crannies to get into, bolt firing pin chamber, gas tube if it has one, i spend .06 cents a round and reload match grade 45's0 -
use ammonia to clean! 0 -
try one of those bug sprayers that you can get high pump pressure out of, then put in down the bore. Follow with bronze brush and dry patches and other cleaning steps [hoppees, etc...], Then always remember to lightly oil to prevent rust.
Hope this helps.
FYI: Just right after shooting either corossive or non-corrosive i point the muzzle to the ground and spray WD-40 until it starts to drip out the end. I know WD-40 is more a solvent, but it seems like it helps a lot since I go home and immediatly clean them out.0 -
I never shoot it in what I call my good guns,,but I shoot several hundred rounds of it a month threw Mossins ans SKS's,,,never had a problem,, I use a good bore cleaner,or hot soap and water,,then oil well,,never had one to rust yet 0 -
If you pre-clean it with Remington Vortex BP cleaner then use Butches Bore shine to remove the copper followed by a good gun oil or Kroil you would have absolutely no problems at all.
I shoot corrosive ammo all the time in four different guns in SE Ohio with unbearable humidity levels all summer long. I have no rust issues at all.0 -
Makes me wonder just how damn lazy people are. In WW 2 (ETC) all ammo
except .30 cal carbine ammo was corrosive and we lived with it in worse conditions than cleaning a weapon in a warm house with a beer in hand.
Dont buy it if you cant be bothered to take a little extra time and work.0
