    Hey, could you still get me one of the Annual Hodgdon Reloading magazines? Still can't seem to find it anywhere around here. Seems fewer places are carrying hunting and firearms magazines each year in this area[:(]

    He took a few days off to go fishing, forgot to concentrate on the important things in life, and look what happened. The Cubs lost three straight to the Marlins.

    They are 0-6 this year, and 0-10 for the last ten games dating to last year against one of the worst teams in baseball. If they had just split this year with Florida, the race would be over.

    Cubs, the last three games are against and in Cincy, so I expect a return of your concentraion to the task at hand.[}:)]

    Marlins complete sweep of Cubs

    MIAMI -- Swept by lowly Florida[:0], the Chicago Cubs shambled out of town Thursday with this consolation: If they make the playoffs, they won't have to face the Marlins again.[;)]

    The problem is Chicago may not make the playoffs.

    Struggling to avert another Cubs collapse, the NL Central leaders stranded 10 runners and lost to the last-place Marlins for the third game in a row, 6-4.

    Chicago began the day with a two-game lead in the division over second-place Milwaukee, which played St. Louis later Thursday.

    The Cubs' magic number for clinching the division remained three. They close the regular season with a three-game series at Cincinnati beginning Friday.

    Florida beat Chicago for the 10th straight game over the past two seasons. That's the longest active streak between major league teams.

    Manager Lou Piniella, mindful that the franchise has a history of folding, invited comedian and Cubs superfan Bill Murray to hang out behind the batting cage before Thursday's game.

    It didn't help.[B)]

    For much of the series, Florida played like the 2003 Marlins, who overtook the Cubs to win the NL championship series en route to a World Series title.[^][:D]

    Jeff, I was in Tennessee trying to forget about the normal life for a few days. Fishing, drinking, and having a good time with some friends.

    Cubs need to win 2. We couldn't have picked a better team for the Brew crew to be playing right now.

    Sorry Dan, I let you down. I'll get back into my mental mindset.
