FDR built the Grand Canyon - one of his WPA projects, I think.

Because building a "wonder of the world" would require the motivation and mobilization of hundreds of thousands of individuals for a common goal.
Iu would be impossible to convince hundreds of thousands of modern people to accomplish anything on this scale.
Heck, we can't even agree on Coke or Pepsi.

    What about Mt. Rushmore?

Doesn't compare in scale and the absence of technology as something like Stonehenge.

Why... the Eight Wonder of the World!

    The ASTRODOME!

    C&P:

Reliant Astrodome, also known as the Houston Astrodome or simply the Astrodome, is a domed sports stadium, the first of its kind, located in Houston, Texas. The stadium is part of the Reliant Park complex. It opened in 1965 as Harris County Domed Stadium and was nicknamed the "Eighth Wonder of the World". [1]

I agree with Wallie on this one. We should put all this cheap Mexican labor to a good use.

I think our country is a "wonder of the world", although it is not weathering very well at the present time.

Not the point. Point is, ancient men, uncivilized, uneducated and technologically inept as they were, figured out somehow, using mapower and simple tools and machines as it's sole source, moved huge rocks from the coastal regions of England to the Salsbury Plains, and managed to arrange them and plane them in a curcular structure that when the Summer Soltice occurred, the sun rose at an exact and specific joining of the monolith.

That's America's wonder of the world. It's debt.

It would take the currency of every country on Earth in circulation to pay it off.

[}:)][:D][}:)][:D]Sure the internal combustion engine was developed. The atom bomb droped. Radio and television are everywhere. Computers, refridgeration, air travel, space exploration telecommunications, antibiotics, ect ect but we hardly ever wonder about any of those. Now breast implants are another story. We build them better and they are a wonder! So hold your head up high, but not too high you may miss something.[:0]
