Because building a "wonder of the world" would require the motivation and mobilization of hundreds of thousands of individuals for a common goal.
Iu would be impossible to convince hundreds of thousands of modern people to accomplish anything on this scale.

Point is, ancient men, uncivilized, uneducated and technologically inept as they were, figured out somehow, using mapower and simple tools and machines as it's sole source, moved huge rocks from the coastal regions of England to the Salsbury Plains, and managed to arrange them and plane them in a curcular structure that when the Summer Soltice occurred, the sun rose at an exact and specific joining of the monolith. 0 -
