Don't know about Subarus, Fords have them. Read the owner's manual is all I can suggest, sorry.

Could you not call a Subaru dealer and get information on where exactly it is located?

I have a couple of Subs, but never that problem - suggest you follow the advice Wes gave you and call a dealer.

Alternatively, you might check on one of the Sub forums.

    Good luck.

I called a Subaru dealer and spoke to the service writer. He said he was not sure if the cars had such a switch, so he tried to get one of the mechanics to pick up the phone in the back, but none of them were available.

Autozone will have some pretty good information online. You may want to check the links here:

I also had a wagon of this vintage and one day while going thru some heavy brush, it quit, dead!! On the verge of calling for tow, I saw a wire hanging down underneath about where driver would sit. Checked it out and it has just come unplugged from the nearby terminal. It is quite possible you don't have power to the fuel pump. Lots of luck, Tom
