Martial Law Could Destroy Our Country If Guns Are The Target

Undoubtedly, this is what most law abiding citizens fear the most about our government....Martial Law and the seizure of weapons from every citizen. "Vigilant Shield 08" is an exercise being conducted by all federal and state agencies in a laboratory, scheduled for October 15th through October 20th. The scenario will be a combination of threats, both natural and man made. Martial Law is the main weapon by the government to regain control of the people. Parts of the plan is to force clergy to help organize their flock into submission. By including the clergy in the scenario is indicative of the high possibility that Martial law is not going to be accepted by the population, as it basically wasn't during Hurricane Katrina. The idea of taking weapons away from everyone, would leave good citizens vulnerable to thugs that will not give-up THEIR weapons.
If we analyze the idea that citizens will give-up their weapons by government order, we can assume that most wouldn't. The backlash could easily start a civil war against our own government, while the thugs continue to kill, rob, and run. Violent gangs would continue to roam the streets, and innocent (unarmed) citizens would be defenseless. Is this NOT considered as part of the test scenario? If we have armed citizens, that have their weapons exactly for the purpose of the exercise, then the laboratory computer models should obviously show the need for citizens to defend themselves. The simple problem with their plan to remove weapons from everyone, the government can't be in every household, or business when the crap hits the fan.
Therefore...what is the true mission for such a Martial law? Is it a test to see if we as the people would stand-up to tyranny? History shows that we have had to defend ourselves in the past, and is the reason why we still have a Constitution intact, but are we approaching a dangerous time in our history where dictatorship is just beyond the horizon? The excuse that terrorists will destroy a city is very likely, and at the same time, Mexico promotes the "Reconquista" of the United States. We the people need to be armed NOW more than any other time in our history.
If the government doesn't trust law abiding gun owners, then what is it that they are hiding themselves?
I don't have the technology to pump scenario data into a computer to tell you what would happen, but common sense tells me that any attempt to take weapons away from law abiding citizens would not be welcomed. The tide would turn as Americans decide what the priorities should be for this country. If they load up the prisons and detention facilities with citizens that refused to turn-over their weapons, a new front would develop across the land as groups/organizations, combined with militias would rapidly develop in every community across the country.
The rise in the cost of ammunition, and the lack of certain type of rounds is just the beginning of seizing our weapons without taking our weapons.
Drastic strategic plans, an accountant or pilot would have never dreamed of, would be a sacrifice worth fighting for. To do nothing, and to allow our Constitution to be violated in the name of fighting terrorism is a sham beyond belief. We as the people are the front line for detecting and deterring terrorism, and to hand that inherited duty over to the government is like asking them to secure the southern border from the invasion we are experiencing. The government refuses to protect our country, therefore, how can we expect them to protect us during Martial Law?

North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command along with U.S. Pacific Command, the Department of Homeland Security as well as local, state and other federal responders will exercise their response abilities against a variety of potential threats during Exercise Vigilant Shield `08, a Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff-designated, North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM)-sponsored, and U.S. Joint Forces Command-supported Department of Defense exercise for homeland defense and defense support of civil authorities missions.
VS-08 will be conducted concurrent with Top Officials 4 (TOPOFF 4), the nation's premier exercise of terrorism preparedness sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security, and several other linked exercises as part of the National Level Exercise 1-08. These linked exercises will take place Ocober 15-20 and are being conducted throughout the United States and in conjunction with several partner nations including Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom, as well as the Territory of Guam.
VS-08 and National Level Exercise 1-08 will provide local, state, tribal, interagency, Department of Defense, and non-governmental organizations and agencies involved in homeland security and homeland defense the opportunity to participate in a full range of exercise scenarios that will better prepare participants to prevent and respond to national crises. The participating organizations will conduct a multi-layered, civilian-led response to a national crisis.
USNORTHCOM's primary exercise venues for VS-08 include locations in Oregon, Arizona and a cooperative venue with USPACOM in the Territory of Guam. NORAD's aerospace detection and defense events will take place across all the exercise venues, to exercise the ability to mobilize resources for aerospace defense, aerospace control, maritime warning, and coordination of air operations in a disaster area.
This exercise is clearly a way to prepare government to respond to a national crisis with martial law. This announcement also follows a number of other news stories that indicate the government is becoming more actively prepared for the implementation of martial law.

nice and interesting story. Couldn't tell if this was a report or what. But one thing I'm having trouble with is why would martial law be called, I can think of two (Disasters which i don't think merritts it) and this is a maybe terrorist attack. 0 -
In there exercise, are they going to have civilians shooting at them? Because that is what will happen. The Government isn't stupid, Look at how your local police dept's are armed. The Government works methodically and eases new laws and bans slowly to the american peolpe so it will be more excepted by the american people. They can't just rush in and shock the american people. This way, they will be hoping to have much less resistance, because it will be excepted by most americans.{whom I call sheep} They have been working towards Marshal Law for a long time and getting prepared for it. Just look how over the years how much things have changed around us. Just my opinion. 0 -

Crime, you see, is for commoners. The Elites care NOTHING about the level of rape, robbery, and murders among the lower orders.
Their only drive is control.control of every aspect of your life.
