Why will Bush..
do nothing to get those Border Patrol agents out of the slammer. DHS admitted LIEING about the whole damn thing. I thought that the patriot act would not be used against law abiding citizens. Where is my tinfoil hat when I need it. Come on all you blind Bush supporting sheep. I wanna know why!!

why wont the democrats congress do something about it ? same reason why bush wont. selling out america citizens 0 -
Bush CREATED the DHS with the powers the Patriot Act gave him. 0 -
To be used only against terrorists trying to destroy our way of life. The question still stands. WHY?? 0 -
Not exactly. The Bush admin is on record as opposing the creation of the DHS but doing so at the will of democrats and American public support. The Patriot Act has nothing to do with anything. 0 -
Really? You think so? Then tell me where the funding for the DHS comes from? What authorized that funding? 0 -
http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/budget/fy2005/homeland.html
Since 2001, the Administration:
*
Created the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) by merging 22 separate agencies into a cohesive department with a primary mission of protecting the homeland;
*
Provided $11 billion in DHS to support State and local preparedness through 2004;
*
Leveraged detection technology and deployed additional personnel to enhance border and transportation security-increasing spending by nearly $9 billion;
*
Protected the Nation's aviation system by deploying a well-trained screener workforce and state-of-the-art screening equipment; and
*
Secured $5.6 billion as part of the President's Project BioShield to buy cutting-edge drugs, vaccines, and other medical supplies for biodefense.
The President's Budget:
*
Provides $3.6 billion more than in 2004 for DHS programs-a doubling of funding since 2001;
*
Targets first-responder grants to high-threat areas facing greatest risk; and
*
Improves biosurveillance by expanding air monitoring for biological agents in high-threat cities and high-value targets such as stadiums and transit systems.0 -

Because most politicians both republican and democrate have been bought by lobbyests. Both American and foreign.We have all been sold down river. Money talks, that`s why. Gotta keep the borders open so the cheap labor can steal those jobs left that can`t be exported. 0 -
Because he, like every other politician, cares only about two things. 1) himself 2) money

Husker, take some classes on American politics. Funding for EVERYTHING comes from congress.

"Bush initially resisted the idea of a new department, which had been championed primarily by Democrats in the wake of the attacks. But Bush embraced the concept in June and used the issue effectively on the campaign trail this past fall, criticizing Democrats who differed with him over the issue of labor rights within the new department"0 -
The creation of DHS did not come from Bush, but rather a bill that was overwhelmingly supported by democrats. 0 -
Maybe you should take some classes, funding for EVERYTHING comes from We the People. 0 -
From your link. "Bush initially resisted the idea of a new department, which had been championed primarily by Democrats in the wake of the attacks. ...In respect to the border problem and border related problems...Bush, as all the other Presidents before him and probably after; have very small sacks.
Inside the beltway all the "no-nads", have no will to do a dang thing about the problem...they are "skeered" they might offend the mescin voters...and the libs depend on the illegals vote, kinda the way they depend on the "dead people" vote...[:D]

The Patriot Act does not discriminate -between- American citizens and Foreign Nationals. -[:0]- BIG BROTHER rules ? -[V][V]- 0 -

Who assigned the Director of Homeland Security? What department single handedly put those two in the Slammer? 0 -
Tell me, if the Patriot Act goes away do we still have a DHS?? 0 -
Who does the Director of DHS answer to directly? Why is Bush not knocking on his Directors door demanding to know why his appointed man allowed the lies to be told and innocent american citizens throwing in jail like trash? I was just wondering. 0 -
So yes, ITS BUSHES FUALT 0 -
The simple fact is that there is no political gain from springing those agents from the slam. Bush is not running/cannot run again so he has no one to impress by doing anything about this. 0 -

I believe that there is more to it then votes/cheap labor...and FAR more to what is happening with what by all accounts are superb officers.
I believe those in power are sending a message to the line officers...enforce the laws WE tell you to enforce...WHEN we tell you to enforce then...or face the consequences.
I believe that we are seeing a huge step forward into tyranny....0 -
I think you are right Highball. Bush, puppet master or puppet? 0 -
Willing puppet. 0 -

Willing puppet.
I don't think so. I think President Bush is truly doing what he feels is the right thing to do...even if he is off base on some issues. I truly believe him to be a man of great morals and strong convictions. I don't agree with quite a bit of his domestic policy, but I have no doubt that he believes in it. I think he's the puppet master...doing what he believes is the right thing to do. It's just a shame that our Constitution is being raped in the process...[:(]0 -

Two Border Patrol agents released from prison should balance out nicely against the $400 billion pi$$ed away in Iraq and 3000 dead young Americans.0 -

The 3000 dead have died honorably...serving their nation. They are true heros. History will judge them and President Bush correctly. The Border Patrol guys got the shaft...0 -
"Strong Morals"...perhaps sometime someone could explain the morality behind allowing barbarians free rein to do as they please...and slamming good decent American citizens in jail for doing their jobs. 0
