any experience with Ft. Meade?
My son is going to be stationed there soon and I was wondering if anyone had any handy info to offer.
I got around within it's area several years ago, but beyond being familiar with some of it's organizations and their functions I really don't know much about it.
Any info on how life in general there goes for a monetarily challenged young enlisted man? Any input on it's reputation as a good/bad CONUS assignment?

easy assignment. I just left Aberdeen, Md which is just up the road. 0 -
If the phrases:
"in the rear with the gear"
"turtle"
"Pogey Bait"
can be applied to military bases then Ft. Meade is the epitome of them all.
on edit-the danged auto censor changes R E M F to turtle[xx(]0 -

It is a nice post, lots to do around the area. If he is single, tell him to head to Columbia, MD. Lots of good looking single girls there:)
Baltimore is just up RT 295, the Inner Harbor has lots to do also.0 -
