    Nope,........as long as you don't open an attachment to an e-mail. They already have what is hopefully a "junk" e-mail account,.....like I use here. I have done it many times with no negative results.
    Once you f*** with them though, they won't respond anymore, at least not the same one. I have played the game with them,.........and it is kind of "entertaining".
    Do things like, my address is 1122 bl*w m* Avenue,.......they are so stupid sometimes, they will still respond.
    Look at the source though,.......should be no surprise![;)]

    I replied;
    The dumb broad sent me a copy of her passport.

    I sent the whole thing to the FBI in Cincinnati.

    Actually, yes. They can trace your IP address and try to hack into your system. Just delete them, or download Mailwasher and bounce it back to them.

    Yes,..........it depends upon the defenses you are running on your system. Should have mentioned that![:0]

    Plus responding validates that they have a good address.

    The last one I got had a great improvement in their English. It actually looked like it was written by at least a 6 grader.

    I would have replied to them on the English improvement, but no sense letting them know they have a good email addy.

    Rack Ops, What you need is an agent, and I will volunteer. Just give me you bank acccount number and social security number and I will, for the paltry fee of 20%, enter in all negotioations with you and the Nigerian (or whatever). I WILL need good faith payment of $10 thousand to know that you are a serious player and not some scam operater trying to fleese some poor Nigerian, Or Ivory Costadinan, or whatever. Tom

    As far as tracing your IP address, if you disconnect from the internet and reconnect your IP address will change. (Except in a few rare instances where a user owns the address). IP addresses are assigned and subnet masked by your ISP on a random basis in most cases. The ISP can determine who(by MAC address, which would lead them to your account)was assigned a given IP address at a given time, but that would be difficult for the Nigerians to do. If they are quick and network competent they may be able to find your MAC address, but that's improbable. I don't get these any more, but if I did I might be tempted to tell them I don't have a bank acount right now, but if they will just send me a USPS international money order for 10 grand I'll be happy to open one they can put their 100 million in.
