I would like to be allowed to live past 200.
No, I DEMAND to be allowed to live past 200.

Hell no. Oh, wait a minute. HELL YES! [:D] 0 -
There are those that think not. I remember a movie about young people taking over the world and any bocy that reached the age of 35 was sent into the Light. When it came time for those that made the law, they changed their tune. "I did not mean if for me It was for everyone else"
Moral of the movie, you too may be lucky to live so long..[8D]0 -

only if you can reach 70 0 -
Trust me - 70+ isn't that bad if you drink 1.5 litres of Early Times bi-monthly, eat any food you wish and get up at 5am, work at least 40 hours a week, don't run around with old b_ _ _ds that age who's M.O. is dwelling on health concerns. Heh! were all going to die, it's not necessary to camp out at a cemetery or sit in the first row of a church and moan about the evil people of the world, who enjoy semi deviate life styles. 0 -
99 is a good age. 0 -

I'll answer this question IF and when I reach 70. This will be an old posting if I can bring it back. 0 -
I think a person should live as long as they can...
I think there should be mandatory yearly testing for driving done on everyone, not just the "elderly"....0 -
Hell, I don't care one way or the other. If the law says I have to die at 70 I'll sure as heck do my patriotic duty and die...That is as long as they can get someone to do there patriotic duty and come in and freaking get me......
Truth be told, I figure that I'll die before that anyway. There is something wrong with the genetic makeup of most of us in America that has caused us to quit producing those hot babes of the 70's and without them and the fact that that crop is starting to look a whole lot like their dads I figure that there will come a day when My ole heart will simply say it has had enough of looking at girls that more closely resemble the aliens of "Close Encounters or the Third Kind" than the girls that were oh so hot back in the 70's...0 -
I think I will let God decide when it is my time to go...Thanks anyway.. 0 -
When I was in my twenties and thirties, I thought fifty was old. As I sneak up on fifty, Seventy does not seem that old to me....[;)]
My family for generations has lived well into their late 80's and several have lived to see 100+. I hope I am not the exception to the rule.0 -
I think the people 40 and under, Hate us because we have worked longer and have more toy's than they do, they want us to die and give them our toys so they wont have to work for them. 0 -
i think you should be allowed to live just as long as you damn wsell please(where did the idea of kill people at a certain age come from anyway???)
on the other hand, it is my personal opinion that you should be able to decide when its time to go. let me explain:
im an emt. every day i see very sick people. some of them are chronicly sick. they have cancer in one or more organs, they have organ failure requiring various treatment and apparatus to maintain life. they are suffering to death at an agonizingly slow pace. their quality of life is garbage. i take some of the same people several times a week for treatments. i pick them up at crappy, dirty disgusting nursing homes and take them to treatmen t center where they are for all intents and purposes handcuffed to a machine for 3-4hrs while they undergo a treatment that makes them tired, sick, weak. and they do this three times a week.
using that and other similar cases as an example, i feel that euthenasia(legal assisted suicide) should be an option. of cousre, not for just anybody. first, a person must be deemed of sound mind and judgement. second, a person must be diagnosed with a terminal condidtion. third, a person must be deemed to be suffering with a low quality of life. if all those conditions are met, i think you should be able to peacefully fade into the backround. obviously this wouldnt apply to 15 year old girls who got dumped or drunks who just dont want to deal with it anymore. real sick people.
most states have do not recesitate protocols in place where, if you were to go into cardia or respiratory arrest, you could have previously chosen not to be recessitated. this sets the precedent for a person deciding, in a way, when they want to die. i think you should be allowed to go one step further and avoid the embarassment fo bladder/bowel incontinence. inability to complete activities of daily life. haveing to be fed pureed food.
i see these people every day. some are mentally fine with their predicament. some are incapable of coherent thought, so therefore dont really understand what happening anyway. but some are mentally sound and miserable. i mean down right miserable. if they have kids, some have been abandoned by them. their level of care is atrocious, usually being provided by minimally competent and lazy immigrants who really dont care. their quality of life is below that of condemmend criminals.
i guess i just feel you should have a choice.......0 -

...Live PAST 70?? How absurd! Manditory put down on your 70th birthday.
...What does ANYONE at 70 have to pass on except "experience". "wisdom" and "knowledge" from managing to live that long...[^]

Before answering, better check the demographics of the US population. We are getting older- FAST. BTW, you youngsters out there will find that YOUR full retirement age for Social Security is- guess what? 70! BTW- I plan to live forever. So far, so good! 0 -
"in that day they will be given to drink, for they will say, eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die.
but thou fool, for thou soul is required of thee this day...."
weather you know it or not, your last day has been scheduled and no one can change it. for its appointed for everyone to die once, then judgement.
God created man to live forever. when sin entered the world, our lifespan was cut. i/e: noah was 900 years old. we are suppose to be granted 120 years of life, according to the bible. but that number has been shortened for many.
i want to live so i may do Gods work. when he says my task is finished, he will take me home. i dont care what the length is, whatever im granted is HIS perfect will. we ALL LIVE at Gods pleasure. and we ALL DIE at his command.0 -
Pretty much sums it up Bobski![;)] 0 -
Hell yeah! Just for the revenge we will get on our kids! 0 -
At a nursing home a group of seniors were sitting around talking about all their ailments. "My arms have gotten so weak I can hardly lift this cup of coffee," said one.
"Yes, I know," said another. "My cataracts are so bad I can't even see my coffee."
"I couldn't even mark an 'X' at election time, my hands are so crippled," volunteered a third.
"What? Speak up! What? I can't hear you! said a fourth.
"I can't turn my head because of the arthritis in my neck," said a fifth, to which several nodded weakly in agreement.
"My blood pressure pills make me so dizzy I can hardly walk!" exclaimed another.
"I forget where I am, and where I'm going," said an elderly gent.
"I guess that's the price we pay for getting old," winced an old man as he slowly shook his head. The others nodded in agreement.
"Well, count your blessings," said one woman cheerfully, "thankfully, we can all still drive."0 -

I thought the bible says we get "three score plus ten" which equals 70 in my book[?] I can find it, but it may take a while.0 -
stupid question, I would want to live as long as possible, only to the point where I was coherent and all. But with todays medicine, 70 is yesterdays 50 0 -
i have a friend who is 75 & twice as tough as me now & if i make 75 i will be lucky to be 1/2 as tough as him... respect him much....just buried a good friend yesterday , gone at 48.......bothers me 0 -
That may become a hot topic soon. Remember when Hillery Clinton was pushing her health care? The plan was heavy on benefits for prenatal and health care for yonger citizens. The geriatic crowd was mostly forgotten. The demographics of the political parties are younger Democrat and older Republican. If the democrats can knock off a few hundred thousand older republican voters it would go better for them in all upcoming elections. 0 -
Good question.

I haven't read it lately myself, but I recall Col. Cooper wrote that the bible said the life of a man should span three score and ten, like DONDALINGER sed.
I liked Cooper's attitude that reaching the 70th birthday was the checkered flag, and the rest were victory laps.
As for being allowed to live past 70, God seems cool with it and I haven't heard of anybody on the ground trying to make it illegal. I plan on being a crotchety old pain-in-the-ass until, say, 101. After that I'll re-evaluate.0 -
chuck, I think everyone that turns the age of 70 should do the respectable and responsible thing right after they blow out the candles, and that would be, follow up with a mouthful of .45 it did wonders for my Dad. 0
