Military Move to NEW YORK, I want to bring AK

I tried searching GB and couldnt find, and all leagal mumbo-jumbo was taking forever so i figured I would ask here. I have a AK-47 WASR10, HI Cap mags. Are these legal in New York? Is it just the HI cap or the gun as a whole? If its the mags, can I leave those at home and buy some smaller ones, if so where do you get those. Any references for proof would help

  Here is the link to the Office of the Attorney General in NY. Maybe you can get an official answer here. If they say OK, I would print the E-mail, and keep it in the care with the rifle.

  I was in Bob's Gun Shop near Middletown NY about 6 months ago and he had AKs and hi cap mags. Gun regulations Differ greatly between NYC and upstate NY.
  If you are going to the City, forget it.
