Catskills hunting spot needed

A car/truck repair shop operator/ gun nut/hunter here in central Va wants to find an area in the Catskills to four wheel it into a remote spot, set up his tent and rough it deer hunting for a few days in November.
I told him the Adirondacks sounds better for that kind of hunting because I believe the Catskills may be too built up. He said he did over 600 miles in the Adirondacks but wasn't able to get off road. A logging road would probably suit him.
Don't know why he wants to do it. There are deer coming out of our ears in Va.
Any good ideas for him?

    New York State is not an "ATV Friendly" state. He will find mostly posted private land and a lot of State Land in the mountains. ATV's are "OFF LIMITS" on all state land in NY.

    Massachusetts is very ATV friendly and if you register in their state, you can ride on the states parks and state land.

    It's not an ATV but a FWD truck. The idea of rough or snowy backroads don't worry him. He's just looking for unlocked, woodsy back roads to pull in, camp and hunt deer in the Catskills.

    I was turkey hunting in the Catskills on a small parcel about 25 years ago. I had permission from the owner. After the hunt, me and my brother were making breakfast on the outside grill when a jeep full of hunters pulled into the driveway and stopped. They started giving us a hard time. They all had guns and they made it known. They told us to stay on our property or there would be big problems.

    What they did not know was that my buddy was in the van with his H&K 91 loaded with a full mag. It was as close to the O.K. Corral as I have ever come.

    They left and we never hunted there again. They all looked like they were inbred.

    My cousin works for them . Our shop is in the foothills of the Catskills.

    International Paper Co only references Maine and Tenn/Alabama contacts for hunting, nothing for NYS.
    Any other leads for this gun buddy in NYS?
