Are guns selling or friends bumping the price

There has been some guns on here in the past few weeks that have sold for alot of money. Browning 42 grade 5 .410 sold for $2000, Remington 541x in the box is on here now with a bid of $1000. There has been some others butI have both of these new in the box. Are they worth it or do some people have there friends run the bid up. I know of people that have done this on ebay, I don't know if it helps unless you decided not to sell.
I guess a gun is worth what you are willing to pay, but it may not be worth that to the next guy.

  IMO, If the "friend ended up winning it, the seller would have to pay the commission, a No Win situation for him/her,,still has piece wit hmore money in it now. I bid on some items that I would gladly pay IF I would win them and I do not know the individual selling. That the fun in bidding,,could get lucky...nambu

  Prices sound right for guns in that condition.

  I've been approached a good half dozen times by sellers offering items at my bid price, claiming the high bidder defaulted or returned the goods.
  It's suspicious but if you know your limit, it's just an annoyance you didn't steal it.
  What's more suspicious are bidders who drop out at a fraction of
  the value of an item.
