"Security Steel" desk disassembly
If you guys know what I'm talking about, you'll probably say I'm nuts. I have my grandfather's house. He had an old steel manager's desk in one of the downstairs bedrooms, made by "Security Steel". I would like to put it in my office upstairs, but I don't think I can get it up there in one piece.
I've seen a million of these things, but I never had to help move one. Any ideas on how to take it apart? Or can it come apart?

The pedestals come off. Take the drawers out and roll the desk over.
You will see bolts and clips attaching the top to the pedestals.
By removing them you can reduce it to manageable pieces.
You will also realize, any thief can get into the locked drawers.
This applies to Steelcase and the older wooden "executive" desks
so I assume yours is the same or similar.0
