The return of Merwin Hulbert!

A new company is bringing back the old and venerable Merwin & Hulbert revolvers! Here's a link to their website although information is still minimal. I'm going to keep an eye on it and thought I'd share as I thought it was interesting.

    Been wondering for years why someone didn't do this, especially with the variety of percussion revolvers (and rifles/carbines, for that matter) now available. I'd think there'd be a similar market for new Hopkins and Allen sixguns (I believe H&A actually manufactured the Merwin & Hulberts). If I could afford this sort of hardware to begin with I'd have to own a 4 3/4" blackpowder-frame Colt SA -- just 'cuz -- but I'd look really hard at one of these M&H replicas for a second gun.

    I ordered one of their catalogs so I can get one as soon as they're available. I hope the guy is successful. It would be nice to have another American gun company!

    Hopkins and Allen did make these novel guns for MH.
    I have a Pocket Army as on the catalog cover except with top strap.
    It's very accurate but heavy at 37 ounces in 44-40.
    Elmer Keith mentioned a lawman who used one to good effect.
    The late Art Phelps who wrote a book on them said he had vague plans on producing some but that never materialized.
