coyotes howling
Had to go to work super early this morning because of the cold weather we are having here in Michigan.Pipes freezing in the school and snow to plow.Anyway, this morning about 3 am I was stepping out of the high school to go to my truck for some tools and I heard a coyote howl at the woods edge behind the school.Several more started in then all hell broke loose.Sounded like one big dog fight. It`s mateing season.Made me want to take off across the field towards the woods and go hunting.I just stood there and took it all in.

Might be a little cold right now. 0 -
I enjoy hearing them too, except when trying to sleep. Sometimes
have to step out and put a shot in the air so they'll move away
far enough they don't keep us awake.[:)]0 -
A couple summers ago at a cow camp that had about a 150 acre fenced fall pasture behind it I had two different b$itch coyotes with pups, they would hit the tall grass at night for hunting lessons, the would get to singing as only a bunch of coyotes can, then with out fail from somewhere in the drainage there would be one lone howl from a wolf and there would be silence the rest of the night, before fall came the wolves had killed all but one b$itch and one pup 0 -
I haven`t hunted them this year and might not get a chance to.Not much free time right now,but it sure is nice to hear them and think about it.
I won`t hunt them alone anymore because we have a rather controvercial kitty (cougar) that frequents the area. I haven`t seen him personally, but several of my cousins have. Call me a fraidy cat,but I don`t want to be calling coyotes and have the big cat sneak up unseen from behind. This cougar has been in the area for several years now. Seeing how this isn`t cougar country it takes a little getting used to.0
