Wisconsin cops finger printing at trafc stops

If you're ticketed by Green Bay police, you'll get more than a fine. You'll get fingerprinted, too. It's a new way police are cracking down on crime.

If you're caught speeding or playing your music too loud, or other crimes for which you might receive a citation, Green Bay police officers will ask for your drivers license and your finger. You'll be fingerprinted right there on the spot. The fingerprint appears right next to the amount of the fine.

Police say it's meant to protect you -- in case the person they're citing isn't who they claim to be. But not everyone is sold on that explanation.

    wisconsin is a beautiful state, their laws are some of the most communist rules in the land. The way they label their roads is stupid too, not to mention EVERY section of land is required to have some sort of ID tag. I would never live in wisconsin!, unless I was there working ;) and taking their communist dollars home with me.

    It seems pointless to me. If nothing comes back on them when their license is run then there is no point in getting a finger print. They don't have the equipment to run those prints on the spot and after they are gone it's too late. On a personal note my finger prints are probably in many systems and I've never been arrested for anything. I've got so much personal information out there floating around it's a little late to shut the barn door now.

    Sure you can say no, but you better be right. If you say no when the law doesn't allow you to you will end up in handcuffs.

    pretty weak explanation, especially since the software is widely available to allow the cops to check the digital image on file attached to your Driver's license file, via laptop PC.

    ya you are right there.i lived hear all my life but i wouldn't go as far as to say commies it is more like the liberals run this state from one of the most liberal cities we have madison.and that moron gov jim doyle..

    It's been four years since I rode with the Mo. Highway patrol but at that time they didn't have this equipment. Perhaps they do now. The depts. I'm associated with now don't have them either. I don't even know what you're talking about.

    Police are not Gods this is true. Everything else you said is ridiculous. Of course there are bad cops. Just like there are bad people everywhere. However, the vast majority are hard working and dedicated people.

    Screw that. My picture is on my drivers license and CWP . If the Officer can't distinquish it is me I will request another superior Officer.

    At several banks it was common practice to require a thumb print to cash a check. Also a thumb print was required to obtain a drivers license.

    But that was in the Kommie State of Kalif.

    All you dissenters can and probably will get arrested. Thus leading to your finger printing and photo at processing. Petition till it's on the ballet. Vote the idiots out. ( oops I forgot why bother to vote they'll win anyway..) Yea, right!
