Starting a career move

I'm starting my packet for the Army's Warrant Officer Candidate School and eventually Warrant Officer Flight Training. Just talked to the recruiters today, and I'm hopeful that everything will go smoothly. I know for a fact that it will go slowly, but I'm confidant in my abilites to succeed.

  A chance to gain meaningful amounts of helo time at Govt expense is an opportunity not to be missed. You could never afford to pay for it on your own. If being a Warrant Officer will get you the most stick time in the left hand seat, that's the way to go.
  I know an Army reserve officer with only a few hundred hours that he can't do anything commercially with.
  It's not premature to get a head start by digging into FAA study materials for pilots, Aviation Weather, Navigation & Communications
  and go from there to materials for the instrument rating.
  Some of this stuff can be pretty daunting so familiarization will ease the workload in flight training.
