lightweight scope
I am getting a Kimber 8400 Montana 270WSM for deer, elk, sheep and ? and want a variable 2.5 x 8 or higher power 1" tube to stay light and willing to pay for quality I just want to stay light

+1 on the Burris Short Mag. I have a straight 4x on my 45-70 and I love the scope, very light and like all Burris scopes, very clear. I believe mine weighs in at 7 or 8 ounces so the 2x7 or 3x9 should be around 10 or so I would think. Another one to consider, would be the Leupold Ultralight, but these seem to be a bit more spendy.
