Fred Trost

Anybody here from Michigan? Fred Trost, host of the old Michigan Outdoors program and later host of the Practical Sportsman as died at the age of 61 from some kind of lung problem.

  I used to watch Fred, till he was sued over doe pee.

  Michigan Out of Doors went down hill after Mort Neff retired.

  Old Mort Neff was the greatest.I remember watching him every thursday night when I was a kid. Freds show always seemed to be changing direction ,but I always watched anyway.Even though he hasn`t had a show in awhile he will be missed

  He had a tough act to follow after Mort but I always thought he had an interesting show.....maybe got a little "radical" sometimes about issues.
  
  When I got my CCW the class was at his museum and he gave a little talk afterwards about legal issues to think about. I was quite impressed with his down-to-earth approach.

  I grew up watching Michigan Outdoors. Fred was a good host, shame that he passed so young.

  Fred and Bob Garner were a good team on screen. But they sure couldn't get along off the show.
