GB terms vs seller's terms
Lately I've noticed a few sellers who demand that successful bidders contact them within a shorter time frame than the 5 business days stated in the auction rules - in one case it stated 24 hours!
I completely get that deadbeat bidders can be an issue but it seems to me that if one is using the auction, GB's terms should be the prevailing rule.

I have always gone by the sellers terms, most have been agreeable, as long as you keep communications open, and ask before you bid.

Some guys are in a hurry, but I must admit the latest I have ever innitiated contact with a seller was the next morning after a late night auction end. Usually it is within minutes, because I am watching the close. I guess I can imagine bidding if I could not get to the end and contact the seller in 2 or 3 days, but in that case I would e-mail before the close and say: "In case I am the winner, I will contact you on xx when I return from an elk hunt. Will that be acceptable? 0
