thanks for the info on drying fruit. I didnt have enough lemon juice, so i used water, lemon juice, added suger until it quit dissolving, and a couple of dashes of sea salt(started using this because its supposedly better for you, dont know but it seems like it takes less of it to flavor.) let the apples soak, and then put them to dry tried one out and CRUNCH! perfect!
    thnx again

I'm confused. Your profile says you live in Washington, but you recently mentioned that you've seen lots of insect traps on ash trees in Minneapolis/St. Paul.

My original intent for this thread was to ask you what you have going on in early July, as I'll be coming home on leave, and I'm going to need something to do other than ride my motorcycle around.

Didja decide to import that milsurp?

No, I'll let it go. I've put enough time and money into importing the ones that really needed to come over (Westley Richards .450, Mannlicher-Schoennauer 8mm: both heirloom pieces). I just wish they'd come already! Waiting on the export permit from SA.

Can ya get me some padlopers while you are at it?[:p][}:)]

WR in .450 eh, sounds like bruised shoulder time, but I will bet it is a fine rifle.

Sorry, that's the best I can do. My uncle claims these are the remains of a less-than-fortunate padloper; I'd be lucky to differentiate a padloper from a painted turtle!

Well thanks anyway. The fact that they are stringently protected should probably be enough reason to leave them alone, but of course that raises the price in some quarters and they do get smuggled. They are way cool little tortoises. No painted turtles in SA, unless you paint them yourself.[:p]
