Winchester prices
What is with the high Winchester prices? A late pre-64 (1957) in 70% condition here sold for $775, recent 94s for about $400, a decent Model 61 .22 for $800. A 50% increase in about a year. Is it just because Winchester went out of business? Will the emotionalism subside and prices get more reasonable and closer to the competition (like Marlin)?

Take a look at the what has happened to the Colt Revolvers.
I cannot figure out why my 356 TSW S&W custom shop pistol is not work 2K since they will never make any more and there aren't that many out there.
Colt and Winchester have the old western names.0 -

Prices are driven by demand. If there was the demand for your S&W that there is for the Colts, the prices would be up. Dealers jacked up the prices of even new Winnies, and people bought them, thus establishing that level of demand. Nothing says that buyers are intelligent, or that the market will stay strong, but people want what they want and many are willing to pay for it. 0
