Birth Control Contraceptives to 11 Year Olds
If this does not get your blood to boiling, nothing will. What is your opinion of school officials passing out birth control pills or patches to eleven and twelve year old girls? This, under state law, does not require parental permission. Eleven years old?! With the state plan to include six and eight year old children?!

Yup, but you have to wonder where the parents are. Passing them out is better than watching a PG kid waddle down the hall at Jr High. It is not unusual (where I live) to see 12 & 13 yr old girls who are pregnant. 0 -

aren't contraceptives considered medicine? And I thought kids were getting kicked out for having tylenol at school. But 11 year old girls are given contraceptives while at school???

There is a fine line seperating intrusion and minding your own business here. Seems as teen pregnancy is on the rise and getting down to , Yes! 12 and 13 year olds.. If parents wont take the responsibilty to educate these young people then someone must.. How many welfare babies do you want to support????????? How many abortions do you want added to the rising number???
The decision should be with the parent after notification from the agency dispensing the pill...

This was a big part of the crux of the problem forty years ago, too, Classic. The fact is too many citizens just don't care and the undesireables run Hollywood the governments.0 -
obviously this in not a desirable situation, but better birth control than pregnant 11 year olds. Of course we would be pretty happy with sons proving what studs they are at 12.
People are not responsible with their pets, what makes anyone think they will be more attentive and responsible with their children?0 -

i know the probability may be low for this to happen, but....
what about allergic reaction?
are they bringing in doctors to conduct tests on the girls to determine IF they can take birth control without haviing any serious reactions? in know that is may be an invalid example due to her age, but my sister, who is now 37, cannot take any form of birth control other that the shot because she will have serious allergic reactions.
if the school officials ARE having these tests coducted, they are in violation of law where a parent or legal guardian is required to give consent to run ANY tests.0 -

My kids school better never talk to my kids about birth control, that is a personal area that me as a parent needs to address not some stranger in a school. This is truely sickening to me.
All that school needs to provide to my kids is schooling, you know math, science, history, ect. The schools are and have been stepping way over bounds on personal issues that have nothing to do with "schooling".0 -
Yes, it was. Every time there has been a male teacher molesting a female student, the outcry here is to hang him or burn him at the stake. Whenever the situation is reversed and the teacher is female and the student male, there is a lot of winking and nudging, boasts from a few who made it with a teacher or other "older" woman, and general consenus that any red-blooded boy would not be tramatized, while a girl would.
My position is that the older person is a chlid molester irrespective of gender.0
