Your potential "buyer" might be an anti-gunner just trying to stir up the pot. If not, both he and his FFL are idiots and you'll have nothing but trouble with him. His comments about your shipping are both rude and accusatory ("someone's cut").

Or his FFL wants to cover his butt and simply tells him it is illegal to avoid the " i know you don't do it but couldn't you just do it for me one time" people...

Another option is to state in your auction that you don't have a ffl/c&r and if the buyer's ffl has an issue with that, you will happily let your buyer pay whatever a local dealer will charge to "reverse transfer" it for you...plus actual shipping too.

I've always reserved the right not to "Buy from" or "Sell too" people who appear too stupid to have any gun related activity.I have however,"rescued" a few pieces from the hands of some of the afore-mentioned individuals.I felt it was my duty to society and the gun community.Pounding sand and Pi$$ing up a rope will in most cases deter any more of that ill informed banter. But hey,I fell off the Non-smoking wagon last week and I'm probably just overly sensitive due to the self depracating/loathing feelings of guilt and worthlessness I'm having.
I should probably ban myself from any interaction with society for awhile.
Oh yeah, did I mention that I bought a revolver last week and based on my charming demeanor and the fact that it was my birthday the fine gentleman shipped for free[8D].

I would simply e-mail him as to how it works. Individuals can and do ship via UPS handguns to an FFL. Cost is high since UPS insists on overnight air. Cost can be as high as $60 to ship if it is being shipped to a isolated area of the country.

He pays shipping, he pays his FFL and he pays for the gun and shipping up front. Thats the rules and if you don't want to play by the rules don't bid. And you want proof that his FFL is really licensed.

...Some of ya'll have way more patience than I do when dealing with stupid people...I would have told the guy "Great! I Adhere stictly to ALL FFL Regs...Don't Bid! YOUR Loss!"...one's you feel may come back and haunt you, usually do...[;)]

    I thought,

His FFL wants to sell his guns or wants to at least have another FFL make the sale. He may not like all of the private sales because of the Internet these days. So he does anything he can to kill a sale or at least make it a pain for all involved hoping they won't want to do it again.

    Just an idea.

It is "dust" from an Uncle Mike's inside the pant holster. I thought I had wiped it down better than that.

    Good eye.

If you want to buy this no FFL need get involved, I'd deliver it to your door for $325 total.

I agree with sig232. If your goal is to sell things, telling potential buyers to beat it as suggest by some others, is kind of shooting yourself in the foot. One who cannot be somewhat patient with customers, should probably find another job.

I would have also thought the shipping very high, Henry haveing mostly bought from FFLs in the past, Sig232s explaination clarified it for me as well, and in fact I might well pay that if you had a nice example of an older firearm I wanted. One real value of the net auctions is that I can effectly shop all around the country and not just in the 1 or 5 shops in my town.
