Anyone with a Taurus? DRL problem...
Seems my blasted Daytime Running Lights won't shut themselves off.
I don't have the "AutoLamp" option (that turns them off on a time delay)--in the past, when I shut off the ignition, always they turned off immediately. Unfortunately, Ford went and wired 'em with a few other things (Like backup lamps, AC controls, and the Self-Destruct Switch), so I can't just pull the fuse, and leave it pulled...I've pulled the fuse for right now so they won't kill my battery...
I got 'em to turn off once by playing with the headlight/running light switch, but they turned themselves on again...I've disconnected the battery for about 10 minutes, no joy...if anyone has a suggestion on what it could be, it'd be appreciated.
Oh--if it matters--it's a '99.
Thanks!

is it the CLI taurus [8D] 0 -
The Daytime Running Light Module should be inside the driver front quarter panel. Unplug it. We just purchased a 99 taurus wagon and the DRL kept flashing on and off when my wife was driving down the road. Unplugged the module and now no problem 0 -
On my Chevy you can just barely set the parking brake and turn off the DRL 0 -
Ugh, don't get me started on the Taurus. I had a '96, '98, '00, '03 and '05. I hated all of them (company cars, didn't have a sayso).
Yeah, electrical issues on every single one. The Taurus might have been the best-selling car in America, but it doesn't change the fact that Fords are total POS.
And, the 500 nameplate isn't selling well, so guess what they're renaming it for 2008?
You got it, Taurus.0 -
Heck I like my Taurus, .38 and a tough little revolver. 0
