Love the smell of Hoppes
Today I spent some quality time cleaning my 10/22 for the first time. I've probably put a shameful number of rounds through it, but I've not had it that long. Also, used a Hoppes boresnake as well. I really liked it, but I didn't soak it before using it; I sprayed cleaner through the bore until it dripped out of the other end.
I'm tellin' ya, it's good for the soul....[:)]

So true. The only thing better than the smell of Hoppes is the smell of burnt powder[:D][:D] 0 -
If your girl likes the smell of Hoppes #9, you know you have a keeper 0 -

-They changed the Hoppe's No. 9 formula. It no longer contains Acetyl Acetate and Sperm Whale Oil. So it doesn't smell the same as it originally did. A friend has an old, old, 16oz. bottle that he never used. We open it up and smell it whenever I go over there.0 -
Hoppes has an unmistakable aroma but my favorite is from the little cans of WWII GI bore cleaner. During the winter I'll put a wick in one of the little cans and set it on the shelf. [8D]
If you walk in to a gunsmiths or gunshop and smell that, you know you are in an old time place.0 -
Reminds me, I'm taking the wife on a date this afternoon.
I'll have to dab a bit on my neck. It'll bring her fond memories, I'm sure.0 -
Me to ... Hoppes is the best! 0 -
Personally, I can't stand the smell of Hoppe's #9, never could, never will. Wolf's post gives me some hope I might sell what I have to some Hoppe's junkie jonesing for a sniff. 0 -
