We got Elk in Kentucky....

Several years ago Kentucky started re-introducing elk. For this years hunt they are giving out 300 tags. Seems to be going up every few years. I've thought about entering the drawing. How the heck do you get an elk out of the woods. I mean with a whitetail you drag it or pull with 4 wheeler. But those elk are huge.....I've also heard you have to get the meat off the bone quickly. Any truth to that??

  The elk are still protected in WV. No hunts available yet. However, WVDNR has considered stocking elk for future hunts, but no progress has been made yet.

  I run upon them a lot digging ginseng. A lot of Bears around here now to.

  Quarter the elk and carry it out. It helps to take some young, not real bright guys to help with the lifting and toting. Rogue Rob would fill the bill nicely.[}:)]
