No reserve auction?

I have seen many listings on here that claim to be "no reserve" auctions but yet they set a high starting price. By doing this,they have set a reserve price on their item. A true no reserve auction starts at zero. So how can a seller list an item as no reserve?

  essentially you are correct, but this auction site and others distinguish between a minimum bid and a reserve. The reserve being (usually) a hidden minimum. If the auctions don't suit you, don't bid, it is that easy. A lot of us never bid on reserve auctions. If you don't like minimum bid auctions, don't bid on those either. Opening bids (the same as minimum bids really) are common in live auctions as well, so it is really nothing new. Find a good price, have a good time.
