It's not if you win or lose, but how you play the game.[;)]

Well it doesn't have a reserve. I didn't say it makes sense just that it is a fact.

Here are some real NR auctions for you http://gunbroker.com/Auction/SellerAuctions.asp?User=366779

a minimum bid is not a reserve which is a hidden minimum.

What I am saying is....people list a no reserve pistol and then the first amount you can bid is the minamum. IMO that is the reserve price....

Just do yourself a favor and when on hte auction side, every time you see "reserve" replace it in your mind with "hidden reserve".

Ergo, a starting bid, etc. is "no hidden reserve" ...

Ok....Why call it a no reserve auction and then set the first bid at one penny under what you'll take for starting bid? Come on people.....

Actually, this comes up about once a week. The answer is, if you don't like reserve auctions, don't bid in them. If you don't like minimum bid auctions, do bid in them. Complaints here just get you a bunch of smart-ass answers from those of us who like to post smart-ass answers. It will change nothing about the auctions.

I have no problem with minimum bids, but do not like hidden reserves and will not bid. Auctions with a minimum bid a dollar below the buy it now are not auctions, they are simple sales. If the price is good that can be a good thing. Some of the volume dealers here sell below what most FFL's can buy for wholesale. That is a good price and one I will go for on an item I want.
